2024 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Finalists Decided
The 2024 National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Snaffle Bit Futurity kicked off on October 4, but it wasn’t until last night that Open finalists knew who had qualified for the finals and their working order in each of the three events.

During the preliminary rounds, riders were awarded for the high score in the herd work, rein work and fence work. Special awards were also given for the ladies division, the Western Bloodstock Sale Incentive, the high scoring gelding and the Chrome Cash Incentive.
Veronica Swales won the Ladies division on Tuffer Than Metal (Metallic Cat x CR Tuff Tizzy x Woody Be Tuff) owned by Sandhill Stueter Ranch LLC. The Western Bloodstock Sale Incentive went to One Secret Cat (WR This Cats Smart x Secrets Blue Angel x One Time Pepto) ridden by Justin Wright and owned by Stephen Silva. The gelding award went to CR Reys Catty (Dual Reyish x Sarahs Super Cat x High Brow Cat) ridden by Lance Johnston and owned by the Rocking BS Ranch. The Chrome Cash prize went to Reyturn Of The Mac (Reyzin The Cash x Seven S Fiesta Cat x Auspicious Cat) ridden by Luke Jones and owned by Scott Armstrong. Read about the Level 1 Open Champion here.
30 horse and rider teams rode into the herd work today for the Open finals and will ride through the rein and cow work portions of the competition on Saturday, October 19.
