Gina Schumacher and All Right Magnum Clinch The Run For A Million Non Pro Championship

DATE POSTED:August 16, 2024

Kicking off the big events at The Run For A Million on August 14, the Non Pro Championship highlighted 51 entries in the $50,000-added reining competition. When the dust settled, Gina Schumacher and her 2014 chestnut gelding All Right Magnum rose to the top with a 222 score, taking home $14,220.

Schumacher, of Gordonville, Texas, has over $1.7 million in earnings. She has won the European Futurity, the Italian Derby, NRHA Futurity co-champion and champion titles, multiple titles at  the 100X Reining Classic, back-to-back NRBC Non Pro Classic championships, and was tied for third at The Run For A Million’s Million Dollar Reining Challenge in 2023.

She’s been with the All Right Magnum (Magnum Chic Dream x All The Right Motion x Wimpys Little Step) since the beginning. He was bred by her mom, Corinna Schumacher of Givrins, Switzerland, and owned by her family’s ranch XCS Ranch LLC, in Gordonville.

“Roo” has $69,597 LTE according to EquiStat, including winnings from the $100,000 Non Pro Shootout with Schumacher at the 100X Cowtown Classic this past May.

The Run For A Million Strategy

“I chose him [for the Non Pro Championship] because he is a great show horse and very consistent,” Schumacher said. “He is very sweet, but very sensitive. His mind in the show pen is incredible.”

Schumacher brought several horses to The Run For A Million, but her strategy with Roo was simple: Keep the same routine, and do her part.

“I try to show my horse as good as I can, and try to not make any mistakes,” Schumacher said. “Everything went to plan.”

Schumacher and Roo were the last ones in the pen, but their pattern was memorable. In part thanks to big stops, the pair scored a 222 to definitively take the title.

“I am very happy,” Schumacher said. “It’s always exciting to win, especially this one because it’s my first time winning this class. I want to give a big thank-you to our team.”

Allison Thorson and Pale Light took the reserve spot with a score of 220, taking home $8,656. The 2018 palomino stallion (Pale Face Dunnit x Luz Del Conquistador x Conquistador Whiz) was bred by B S Syndicate of Scottsdale, Arizona, and is owned by Thorsport Inc of Sandusky, Ohio.
