Terry Stuart Forst Named 2024 Oklahoma Agriculture Hall of Fame Inductee

Terry Stuart Forst, a fifth generation Oklahoman who owns and manages the state’s oldest and most continuous family-operated ranch, has been named the 2024 recipient of Governor Stitt’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award. Forst is the twenty seventh inductee into the Oklahoma Agriculture Hall of Fame and becomes the first woman to earn the state’s most prestigious agricultural honor.

Roping Futurities of America (RFA) held their spring 2024 contest over March 26-30 in Waco, Texas at the Extraco Event Center. The show boasted new management in Latricia Duke as the owner and active operations/general manager. She also added JoJo Lemond and Brent Lewis to the team as event supervisors. RFA events are based on speed, not a judging system.

AQHA Registration Rule Changes

During American Quarter Horse (AQHA) Convention March 15-18 in Las Vegas, the AQHA Board of Directors and members approved registration rule changes and modifications.

Per the Association’s bylaws, the board of directors have the final authority when it comes to AQHA’s bylaws and rules of registration. Rule-change recommendations from all the other standing committees were reviewed and approved by the board of directors. Those recommendations go to the AQHA Executive Committee for review, modification and/or approval at the April meeting.
